Management of religious heritage: a proposal of a poblano former Franciscan convents of New Spain era tour guide

Abstract


The state of Puebla, Mexico has a great cultural significance that still preserves within it a wealth of architectural treasures of invaluable artistic and historical value to the country. Some of these artistic jewels are the Franciscan monasteries and convents which once served to protect and evangelize of native people, it was there that Franciscans took all the gospel and the perfection of Christian life faithful to its founder San Francisco de Asis. In the sixteenth century when the Spanish arrived to conquer Tenochtitlan and founding the New Spain also arrived along with the soldiers the first twelve friars who taught the doctrine.

It is important make aware on the care and preservation of the legacy of this Franciscan order betwen mexicans and tourists from around the world who visit Puebla. It is our duty to manage and disseminate knowledge about these Puebla former Franciscan convent, so important for its historical, religious and cultural value.

Tourism and heritage are interrelated. Actually tourists spend therir money, on vacation, so that proper management of cultural heritage attract tourists interested in this kind of attractive. It is for this reason that we propose the creation of a guidebook to help largely achieve the above.
